Harry Harrison
Harry Harrison is a Partner and the Chief Executive Officer of Anthemis Asset Management.
Over a 30-year career in financial services, Harry has built, managed, invested in and sold global businesses across a broad range of investment, corporate, retail, wealth, card and insurance products. An early pioneer of electronic trading, Harry has a long and successful track record of transforming financial services businesses through technological innovation.
Harry most recently served as Head of Non-Core at Barclays Bank, reporting to the Barclays Group CEO. He was responsible for the divestiture of over £100 billion in risk weighted assets and the sale of 19 businesses across the globe. Prior to divestiture, Harry and his team took direct, day-to-day operating management responsibility for Non-Core businesses, including retail and corporate subsidiaries in Egypt and Zimbabwe, a global commodity and energy related private equity business (BNRI), the Barclays benchmark indices and analytics business (IPRS), a UK second lien loan business, insurance subsidiaries in Europe, and a variety of other businesses across retail, corporate, card and wealth in Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, UAE and Pakistan. Under Harry’s leadership, Barclays Non-Core completed its divestiture process six months ahead of plan.
Harry was previously Co-Head of Securities at Barclays Investment Bank with direct oversight and responsibility for the rates, FX, commodities, mortgages, municipals, prime services and global portfolio and risk management businesses. He has represented Barclays as a member of the board of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) and the Global Financial Markets Association (GFMA). Additionally, he was the Executive Sponsor for the Barclays Women’s Initiative and the Parents and Family Network.
Harry has a BSc (Hons) in Economics from Warwick University, and an MPhil in Finance from Jesus College, Cambridge.
